LAKELAND, FL (November 20, 2017) — The City of Lakeland bike share program, Swan City Cycles is going through a metamorphosis with new bicycles and expanded user friendly services.  The Zagster Bikes currently part of the Swan City Cycles bike share program will be going away mid-December and GOTCHA will be the new provider starting early 2018.

GOTCHA offers a three speed, belt drive bicycle with true smart bike technology that allows bike share users to rent multiple bikes under one user account! With the new system, users can register, reserve, ride and return bikes with or without smartphone/computer access.

Shawn Sherrouse, Assistant City Manager and avid bike share user said, “I’m very excited about the new improvements coming to the Swan City Cycles bike share program. The new system will be much easier to use and now one account can reserve multiple bikes.”

GOTCHA has designed a bike that is simple to operate. The bikes feature dual brakes (handlebar and coaster), a smooth belt drive system, easily adjustable seat and three internal gears. Flashing safety lights on the front and rear are powered through a built-in solar panel and dynamo hub. The bikes also have an integrated lock that is compatible with most traditional bike racks.

The new Swan City Cycle program will feature an easy to use app that makes finding and reserving a bike quick and convenient. Users will be able to create an account using a computer or mobile device (Android or iOS). The app walks users through a simple on-boarding process explaining how to use the system and then – pedal away!  Look for the new GOTCHA bikes and the improved user-friendly features to be part of Swan City Cycles in the very near future.
