Lakeland Veteran’s Day Parade – November 11th

 LAKELAND, FL (November 3, 2017) – The Polk County Veteran’s Council is hosting the Lakeland Veteran’s Day Parade on Saturday, November 11th. The parade will honor all veterans and activities will start at 10 a.m. with a ceremony in Veteran’s Memorial Park located at 141 Lake Beulah Drive, Lakeland, FL 33815. The ceremony will memorialize the 100th Anniversary of the United States of America entering into WWI.

 

Bells across Polk County will toll at 11 a.m. immediately following the ceremony. The Veteran’s Day Parade will step off from the RP Funding Center right at 11 a.m. and travel east along Lemon Street into downtown Lakeland.  The parade will then turn north on Kentucky Avenue and end in the Munn Park parking lot.  The parade will feature veteran groups, JROTC Units, Sea Cadets, CAP Cadets, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and other entries. 

 

Gary Clark, Chairman of the Polk County Veteran’s Council said, “It is with great pleasure that we honor our veterans during this special day.”  He added, “I hope that we line the downtown streets and show our veterans just how much we appreciate their service to our country.”

 

Rao Angelo, Manager of Traffic Operations said, “The City of Lakeland honors our Purple Heart Veterans year-round.
